The Lord Himself. You gotta love it. God looked down at the mess this world was in, and He intervened. It was all God, nothing else. We couldn’t save ourselves, couldn’t help ourselves. Everything that we did just seemed to dig our hole deeper, distance ourselves further from His holiness. I’m so thankful that God decided to handle this for me. And it wasn’t a last minute decision by the way. No. not at all. The moment that man sinned in the garden, God said “I have a plan”…..and He did. It was the “Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. His name would be called Jesus, and He would save people from their sins. I’m so glad that He did. That baby inside of Mary was God’s doing. It was the Lord Himself. The Holy Ghost came upon the scene and Mary became impregnated with the Word. Here is the best news…….so have we! Jesus was born so that we could be born again, and become a part of a new family initiated by the second Adam. Just remember the next time that you are tempted to brag about your status as a Christian. Don’t ever forget that it was the Lord Himself. Amen.
I too am very grateful for what God alone has done for sinful man!Realizing that we are utterly hopeless and helpless is bitter sweet.I had to experience the bottom to get to the top!For me to admitt that I was powerless to save myself was hard to get to.I didn't want to give up my old ways of dealing with the ever present reality that was killing me. I am so grateful that God was merciful to me and kept dealing with me to give up control to Him. I am not God and I am happier for it, in fact much happier!He also has the power to keep me from going back to my old ways that lead to death.And the minute that I try to take back control, death has began to influence me yet again.Thank you Jesus for being born for me!
