Romans 10:11
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Everybody has done things that they are ashamed of.......everybody. If only we could go back and change some decisions that we made, undo some wrongs that we committed. Well, we can't, and shame loves to rub that in our face. Is shame a bad thing? Should shame have a place in the life of a believer? I say no, and so does the Word of God. Shame is a lie, and is not the same as guilt. Guilt is about what you have done, but shame is about who you are. Guilt says "you made a mistake". Shame says "you are a mistake". The truth that the devil doesn't want you to know is this: Jesus became guilty in your place. He became sin for you. That settles the guilt problem, because He became guilty so that you could be declared not guilty. He also took our shame when He died on the cross. Remember that old song that says "on a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame? He changed our identity on that cross, and because our identity has been changed, shame has no place in our life. No more shame......ever. Amen
