Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
How far does grace go? That's a good question isn't it, and it's a really important question at that! And the opinions range from one end of the spectrum to the other. There is one thing for sure, I can't fully answer this question in just 2 minutes! Why do we ask the question to start with? I mean, why do we need to know how far His grace will go? Is it so that we can determine whether or not someone we know has gone too far, or is it so that we could know if we have stepped beyond that threshold of grace? Isn't there something wrong with either position? Do I need to know where the line is so that I can live right on the edge of God's grace, or be able to tell my brother when he is right on the edge? Grace is not a line, its love. Grace is not a boundary, its believing that He loves me. Surrendering to God's love means that I willingly draw close to Him, not look to see how far away I can distance myself and call myself a Christian. How far does grace go? What does the Bible say about it? It says that God saw me in my most sinful state, as wicked as I would ever be, and He carried an old rugged cross to Calvary where He stretched out His arms and died in my place. I don't know how you measure that when it comes to grace.......I can only say that it is more than enough. Amen

After 28 years of knowing Him, His grace is still amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe law said do but grace says done. The law said obey or die but grace says love and live. What the law couldn't do grace has done, it set me free. Thank you God for your amazing grace
ReplyDeleteGrace says that we are allowed to come into the promised land of God, his arms and heaven. Where he loved us so much. I allways keep in mind that even though I try and fail too many times he will forgive me because of his grace. And that before under the Law even Moses was not allowed into the promised land after all he went through. God still took him home but just could not set foot on that piece of land. I can set my feet wherever I should wish. Talk about blessed. So much easier for us now and still so easy to blow it.
ReplyDeleteWhen we try to push the limits of God's grace it makes me wonder if we really understand what grace is even about. God loved us so much that he gave his only son for our salvation, and we want to see how little we can give or how far we can go and get away with it..... When we really understand his love for us we will want to be as close as possible to him, and when we mess up we just repent and start over.
