Nothing Else Matters

1 Kings 8:11 The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the LORD filled the Temple. The temple was finished, the sacrifices offered, then God showed up and everything came to a stop. As good as all of our intentions are, and as meaningful as all our duties are, when God's presence fills the room we are reminded of our insignificance. What an amazingly awesome God whose power exceeds everyone and everything! He allows us to be a part of His story, and I ask the question "who is man that you are mindful of him?" (Psalm 8:4). Our righteous is repulsive in the light of His holiness, and the best of our deeds fall overwhelmingly short when compared He who is "Sun of righteousness" (Malachi 4:2). When God takes the stage, everyone else bows down. No matter how noble, mighty or famous....they bow. May our prayer be that God fills our temple today in such a way that nothing else matters.
