Bad Judgement

1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart. It wasn't Saul's stature that God saw, as great as it was. It was his humble heart. Like wise was the case with David. David was the youngest, and least likely among his brothers, but once again God saw the heart of David. It was the heart of a king, and a heart after God that the Lord noticed. People can't help but judge a book by its cover. I have been guilty of this many times, and many times my judgement has been wrong, even when the book being judged was myself! God, on the other hand, can see through what looks like an advantage or disadvantage on the outside to see what really counts on the inside. I pray that God would give us eyes to see what matters most when it comes to others, and that God would help us to not see what the mirror says about us, but instead to see the heart that He is making pure within us.

  1. I love this truth so much. God is so cool to not be like humans who are materialistic and vain. What a person looks like on the outside is naturaly all we see at first. And like everybody else I fall into the same trap. But, God has the abilty to look inside the heart. So, if we use the eyes of God when we look at others we will not see just whats on the outside. How do we see through the eyes of God? Be ye transformed by the renewing of the mind! Reading the bible, studying the bible, going to life groups, meditating on the word throughout the day and surrendering to crucifying the flesh daily. Our flesh sees what we don't need to look at in people. When the flesh is not completely killed we can't see what God sees.
