Grace For Your Day 10-4-11

2 Corinthians 1:5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ

There is nothing quite like the consolation or comfort of Christ. No one can raise you up from despair like the One who made you! But there is one thing that we should remember about comfort and consolation. It is only manifested through suffering. Now it would be great if we could just rest in His comfort all of our days, but would we really even know how truly wonderful His consolation is if we never faced or experienced sufferng? The apostle Paul knew of the "sufferings of Christ". He went through all manner of difficulties and persecutions because of His faith and love for God. Paul gives some of the details concerning his sufferings in 2 Corinthians 11:23-27, yet in all of this he says that our "consolation also aboundeth by Christ". Let's just sum it up like this today.........God is greater. His comfort is greater than your suffering, His grace is greater than your sin, His power is greater than your weakness......greater is He that lives in you. Amen.
