Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;
In our LifeGroups last night at church, we all took a couple of minutes to share our testimonies. Several men of different ages, with different backgrounds and experiences. Some came to know Jesus at an early age, while some were older before they gave their heart to God. Some were raised in a Christian home while others didn’t go to church as a child. It was very encouraging to hear all of the different stories, but what was amazing to me were the common threads that were woven into each testimony. It was grace. Grace that found them in the midst of failure and rebellion. It was love. Love that kept them through the running and hiding, and became overwhelmingly obvious the deeper that they went in sin. It was patience. A patient God, even after their conversion when they let the flesh win, or decided to check-out for awhile in their relationship with the Lord. As I listened to each testimony, and saw the common thread, I realized how a testimony can be linked with the process of overcoming. A testimony brings to light the deception of the enemy that tries to convince you that nobody else fails as much as you, nobody else stumbles in the dark so often, nobody else ran from God as hard as you did………..a testimony shared by an honest friend reveals just how much alike we all really are, and just how good our God really is. Amen
