Grace For Your Day 10-27-11

Psalm 61:2
From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Sometimes we just need a different view. In our lowest moments, it seems like we are the most vulnerable. It looks as if we can’t win, we can’t overcome, we won’t make it through. Everything seems so much bigger than us, like the children of Israel, we appear like grasshoppers to the giants around us. In one word, we are overwhelmed. But there is a place where the view changes, There is a place where perspective transforms. A place where the enormous problems and struggles seem to become insignificant and small. Where is that place? It is a rock…….excuse me, it is THE ROCK. When the Old Testament speaks of the rock, it speaks of Christ. He was the rock that led and provided for the children of Israel as they wandered in the wilderness, and He is the rock that we can lean on when our strength is failing, and He is the rock that is higher than us, higher than our enemies. Overwhelmed? Cry out to Him, and watch your enemy become small from the spectacular view of THE ROCK. Amen.
